Mille, hans familj & och hans kompis. / Mille, his family & his pal.

Min fru har ett par idéer till barnböcker som hon skriver. De är smått roande och snälla historier. En av dem handlar om en mus och hans familj. Den har jag fått äran att illustrera. Med tanke på att historien skrevs klart för 1.5 år sedan så är det verkligen hög tid att jag "får till det" snart. Det är tänkt en serie av 8 bilder som har något med texten att göra. För tillfället är jag "gräsänkling" då frun och barnen har åkt till svärföräldrarna. Så rent praktiskt har jag tid. Precis IDAG har jag prioriterat min frus barnbok mer än mycket annat som måste göras i ett hem. Det är inte mycket disk när man är själv, det märks så tydligt. Men det måste fortfarande städas och lagas mat. Sånt tar mer tid än man tror.

Musen heter Mille och i den första boken träffar han på en annan mus som har en tänkvärd historia att berätta. Ni får läsa hela när det är färdigt. :-D

Jag har gjort ett par grovskisser först. Sedan brukar jag testa olika färger för att se vad som kan tänkas passa, kanske olika detaljer i bakgrunden eller något som kan göra bilden intressant. Samtidigt måste den kunna spegla det som finns i texten, så lite utmaning är det. Mer om boken sedan när den är klar!

My wife has a couple of ideas for children's books that she is writing. They are amusing and kind tales. One of them is about a mouse and his family. I got the privilege to illustrate it. Considering that story was finished 1.5 years ago I really need to get it done soon. It is supposed to contain a series of 8 pictures which are about the text. For the time being I'm living the life of "grass widower" as the wife and kids are at the inlaws. So practically I have time. TODAY I have made my wife's book a priority, much more than all the the rest that still needs to be done in a home. There's less washing up when you are by yourself, that is so notable. But you still need to keep things tidy and cook. Such things steals time more than you think.

The mouse' name is Mille and in the first book he meets up with another mouse that has a tale to tell. You can read all about it once the book is finished. 

I've made a couple of rough sketches first. Then I will try to try out different colours to see what could work, perhaps different details in the background or something else to make it interesting. Still, it needs to work with the text and reflect that. So it's a bit of a challenge. More on the book later, once it's finished.
