Oväntat Stjärnornas Krigtema med vinst. / Unexpected Star Wars-theme with a win.

Jag är positivt överraskad. Hur ofta sker det att man vinner saker när tillfället ges? Att vinna på lotto eller liknande, det händer ju liksom inte. Inte för mig i varje fall. Men i andra sammanhang har det gett utdelning. Det är ju mycket tur men samtidigt kan jag inte låta bli att fundera kring ifall jag har någon sorts "talang" för tävlingar med att väva text som genererar plus för ett särskilt tema som efterfrågas.

Genom åren har det blivit någon vinst då och då (en bok här, en ask där. Jag rör mig mest där tävlingen kretsar kring film-, serie-, spel-, och allmänt inom popkulturvärlden. Så konkurrensen är stenhård, eftersom andra inom samma område är minst lika kreativa i sina svar eller motiveringar.

Nu senast hade discshop en tävling rörande Stjärnornas Krig på sin Facebooksida. Sådant är svårt för mig att motstå. Det var på den 4 maj som den började, slutet var
23:59. Jag skrev en motivering som sändes in 23:48 ca - alltså lite i sista sekunden.

Någon dag och en halv senare kom följande meddelande:
"Grattis. Vi har utsett dig till vinnare i tävlingen! Maila adress till info@discshop så är statyetten din. Ps may the force be with ya! Vännerna på discshop."

Lådan vägde 5.5 kg. / The boxed weighed 12 stones.

Fantastiskt kul! Så vad var priset? Denna 50 cm höga pjäs från Sideshow Collectibles serien! Den kom med posten idag. Galet snyggt detaljerad scen från filmen "Klonernas Attack" (från 2002), handgemäng mellan Amidala & en Nexu.

Detta är ett bevis för att det går att vinna tävlingar. Ge aldrig upp. Var kreativ och ärlig. Inget sånt från den mörka sidans trick alltså :-D

I am positively surprised. How often do you win stuff when the opportunity is given? Like winning the lottery or something, it just doesn't happen. Not to me anyways. But in certain other contexts competitions sometimes pay off. It's a great deal of luck involved but I can't help but wonder if I have some kind of a flair for competitions where you need to weave text together for the certain theme which is asked for.

Sideshow collectibles!

Over the years there have been the occasional win here and there (a book here, a box there). I ususally move in circuits where the competition revolves around film-, comic,- game- or just in general within pop-culture. So the competition is fierce, since other people who also like these fields are just as good in their answers or motivations.

Now a couple of weeks or so ago, Discshop held a competition concerning Star Wars on their Facebook-page. Such things are hard for me to resist. It began on May 4th, ended at 23:59. I wrote a motivation which was sent in around 23:48 - rather in the last minute of things.

Some day and a half later I recieved the following message:
"Congratulations. We have appointed you the winner of the competition! Mail us your address to info@discshop and the statue is yours. P.s. May the force be with ya! The friends at Discshop."

I väntan på ett bra skåp. / Awaiting a good cabinet.

Crazy fun. And the prize? This about 50 cm tall object from the Sideshow Collectibles series! It came by mail today. Insanely beautifully detailed scene from the movie "Attack of the clones" (from 2002), a brawl between Amidala and a Nexu.

This is a proof that competitions can be won. Never give up. Be creative and honest. No tricks from the Dark side, in other words. :-)
