Firepath: Plastutflykt. / Plastic field-trip.

Det var dags för en tur till populärkulturens monetära centrum (sci-fi world), som idag tog plats i danshaket/mässhallen Sundspärlan i Helsingborg. För en gång skull tänkte jag vara tidig. Så pass tidig var jag att jag fick plats ca - 50 i kön. Bakom mig kunde jag se hur svansen av människor bara växte och växte fram tills att de slog upp portarna kl. 10.

Att komma in lite efter 10 var en annorlunda upplevelse. Tanken kom till mig, att "det är ju inga människor här". I vanliga fall när jag är inne på sådana här mässor så får man använda sidledsgång och invänta människor innan man kan ta sig fram. Speciellt i Sundspärlan är det en "propp" risk precis vid deras stora scen. Zombievandring. Men idag kunde jag lugnt gå och titta ut saker. Efter en stund blev stället helt överfullt.

Som vanligt är det lite ont om extrapengar till något alldeles spektakulärt. Men det kanske kan vara bra också. Skulle man mot all förmodan ha obegränsat med cash kanske man inte skulle kunna gå därifrån utan att ringa en taxi, på grund av alla påsar. Haha. Det är fascinerande att se människor kånka runt på flerkilos statyetter och feta replik-vapen. Hur har de plats för allt ifall de, som de allra flesta, bor i lägenhet?

Målet för mig är att få ihop originalbesättningen för Årtusendefalken, bestående av Stjärnornas Krig actionfigurerna från 1977-86. Hittills är Chewbacca, Leia och Han Solo klara, förutom viss utrustning innan de blir kompletta. Idag kom jag över en väldigt bra Lando hos montern Toy Villain. Det är så man får göra, beta av en efter en tills man är nöjd.

Gäster den här gången var Lou Ferrigno, Femi Taylor, Tony Cecere och Carl Weathers. Som vanligt erbjuds det fotosessioner med dessa, eller så kan man köpa autografer. Men det är rätt saftiga pengar tycker jag. Bättre att lägga slantar på annat kanske. Jag fann Lando Calrissian, figurplattor, Chewbaccas vapen, ett par DVD filmer och en variant av Leonardo från TMNT. Det var en bra dag som avslutades på ICA, som fyllde 100 år som butik och bjöd på tårta och saft!

So it was time for another trip to the monetary centre of popular-culture (sci-fi world, which today took place in the old dance shack/convention hall Sundspärlan in Helsingborg. For once I thought I'd be early. So early that I ended up among the first 50 in the queue. Behind me I could see the ever growing tail of people growing until the opened the doors at 10 am.

To get in a bit afte 10 was a different experience. The thought struck me that, "there are no people here". Usually at these conventions you have to use a side-step technique and wait for others to pass before you can get somewhere. Especially at Sundspärlan it cloggs by the main stage. And you have a zombie shuffle. But today I could calmly walk around the different booths. After a while the place got over-run though.

As always I am low of funds to buy anything spectacular. But perhaps that is for the best. If you, despite presumption, would have limetless ammounts of cash perhaps you couldn't leave the place without calling for a taxi, due to all bags filled with goodies. Haha. It is fascinating to watch all those people walking around there, carrying several pounds worth of statues and insane replica weapons. How can they fit it all in their homes if they, like most people, live in an apartment?

Ett skoj företag från Polen gav mig en kul idé till eget tryck på t-shirts.

My goal is to collect the original crew for the Millennium Falcon, consisting of Star Wars action figures from 1977-86. So far Chewbacca, Leia and Han Solo are finished, despite lacking some of the gear before being complete. Today I came across a very good Lando at the Toy Villain booth. That is how you do it, take one out at the time until you are satisfied.

Retro i all ära, men dessa nya är ändå så mycket bättre.

Guests this time was Lou Ferrigno, Femi Taylor, Tony Cecere and Carl Wheathers. In usual fashion photo sessions with them were offered, or you could buy autographs. But it is somewhat expensive in my opinion. Better then to get your hands on those items you really want. I found Lando Calrissian, figure stands, Chewbaccas blaster, a couple of DVD's and a variant of Leonardo from TMNT. It was a good day which I finished at ICA, that celebrated their 100th anniversary as a food chain and handed out free cake and cordial!
