I barnens tjänst (söndagsskola). / In the service for children (Sunday school).

För ett par dagar sedan fick jag en förfrågan om att göra några enkla bilder till söndagsskolan i kyrkan. Temat var liknelsen om det förlorade fåret, från Lukasevangeliet. Jag tog det som en skojig utmaning.

Räkna får. / Counting sheep.

Stödlinjer är mer som vägledning. Det är fortfarande tid att ändra eller lägga till saker.

/ Support-lines are more like guide-lines. There's still tilme to change or add things.

Fåret är borta. "Hallå...!!!" / The sheep is missing. "Hello...!!!"

Stor skillnad. / Big difference.

Tanken var att barnen själva skulle få färglägga, så jag fick 'tänka' i svart-vitt. I vanlig ordning skissar jag då upp former, bakgrunder & ett grovt koncept. Det känns skönt att komma så nära slutprodukten innan jag använde tusch. Jag tror så här i efterhand att barnen blev nöjda med bilderna, och sådant är alltid ett fint omdöme.

A couple of days ago I got a request to do some simple pictures for the Sunday school in church. The theme was the parable about the lost sheep, from the Gospel of Luke. I considered it to be a fun challenge.

 Fåret är återfunnet. Hurra! / The sheep is found. Horray!

The plan was to let the children colour themselves, so I had to "think" in black and white. In usual fashion I tend to sketch the outlines for shapes & the rough concept. It felt good to end up so close to the finished product before I used ink. I think in retrospect that the children became satisfied with the pictures, and such is always a good report.
