English:
An article in the newspaper Ljusnan (the largest newspaper in Helsingia) wrote today about the short story competition. The culture editorial staff recieved over 300 entries. Insane! Now follows a thorough read-through by the jury, in the end of August the winner will be announced. I did my best but I think my chances of winning is fairly slim, it's a longshot to write urban fantasy - I believe more "traditional" stories have a better chance. Nevertheless, it was very inciting to be a part of this contest. I will of course do that again if the opportunity presents itself.
When it comes down to it I have no less than 5 finished short stories now, the new one included. Besides that I have 7 ongoing short stories and 4 longer novel-type stories yet unfinished. Perhaps it would be a good time to publish a short story collection either through Books On Demand or Recito? Also perhaps translate at least 1 to English. All short stories are pretty much within urban fantasy, so there will be no sprawling genre-changes.
Årstidsträdet. / The Season-tree (akryl/acrylics 2016)
The season-tree lives through all seasons at once.
The reboot of Spring, assurance.
The beauty of Summer, security.
The colourfullness of Autumn, contemplation.
The rest of Winter, die to live when the Spring comes.
